[evolving] To change or develop slowly often into a better, more complex, or more advanced state.

If you are a photographer and are wondering how to better connect with new clients and collectors of your work for the right now and well into the future, then consider embracing NFT Photography by introducing this into your business model, through Web3. Not only will it vastly broaden your reach to potential new sales, it will also connect you with many other like minded photographers and new found friends in the art marketplace.

If you are not familiar with Web3, then here is a brief overview. Web2 refers to the version of the internet most of us know today. An internet dominated by companies that provide services in exchange for your personal data. However, Web3 in context refers to decentralized apps that run on the blockchain. These are apps that allow anyone to participate without monetising their personal data, also known as Dapps.

Many Web3 developers have chosen to build dapps because of Ethereum’s inherent decentralization: Anyone who is on the network has permission to use the service, or in other words, permission isn’t required, unlike centralized networks that are controlled by a central authority. Web3 payment apps require no personal data and can’t prevent payments, meaning anyone can participate in the network; there are no gatekeepers.

Web2 applications repeatedly experience data breaches. There are even websites dedicated to keeping up with these breaches and telling you when your data has been compromised. In web2, you don’t have any control over your data or how it is stored. In fact, companies often track and save user data without their users’ consent. All of this data is owned and controlled by the companies in charge of these platforms.

There are a few fundamental differences between Web2 and Web3, but decentralization is at its core. Web3 enhances the internet as we know it today with a few other added characteristics that are Verifiable, Self-governing, Distributed and robust with native built in payment systems by connecting wallets, such as Metamask for example.

So how does this benefit photographers, like any other business you’ll expect payment for your products once they are out on the open market, using Web3 and the integrated application extensions, photographers can reach a much larger and newer audience than before when minting and listing artworks for sale as NFTs (non fungible tokens).

Through decentralized apps photographers can see their transactions in real time with instant payment details and a permanent record written to the blockchain of the individual artworks for both you, the seller and buyers.

Many photographers to date, have embraced this technology with many more joining forces every day to showcase to a worldwide marketplace in offering photographic imagery thus bringing it to the forefront of art through NFTs. The community is very strong where connecting with new people is leading to potential sales through the eyes of others, at last photographers are being truly valued for their passionate work.
