First ever minted NFT to be sold at Sotheby’s
Quantum, created by Kevin McCoy in 2014, is to be sold at Sotheby’s, New York, in a curated NFT exhibition.
The collection, named “Natively Digital: A curated NFT sale”, is to include 27 artists and will take place from 3–10 June.
Sotheby’s first NFT auction took place in April and was dominated by crypto-native buyers; however, the auction house believes this auction, whose bidding is to start at $100, is likely to attract existing clients as interest in the NFT market spreads.
The auction house has also announced that from next week they will be accepting Bitcoin and Ethereum as payment for physical artworks.
